Secret Kiss Cookies

Secret Kiss Cookies

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • I tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • I cup walnuts, chopped fine
  • 1 (5 ½ oz.) package milk chocolate kisses
  • Confectioner’s sugar

Beat butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add flour and nuts; beat on low speed until well blended. Chill dough (a very important step!). Remove foil from kisses (also an important step). Heat oven to 375°. Using about 1 tablespoon of dough, shape around kiss, and roll to make a ball. Cover kiss completely. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes, or until the cookies are set but not brown. Cool slightly and then remove to a wire rack. While still warm, roll cookies in confectioner’s sugar. Cool completely. Store in a tightly covered container. Roll in confectioner’s sugar again before serving. Should yield about 40 cookies.
