Where did you attend medical school?
Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine

How long have you been in Arizona?
Since 2005.

What do you enjoy the most about your field of medicine?

  • I love my job; connecting with people is rewarding for me. The parts I enjoy most are the little moments:
  • When a pregnant patient hears the fetal heartbeat for the first time.
  • When someone who is scared of an exam says “that wasn’t so bad” after it’s all over. When a dad cries looking at his newborn baby.
  • When patients share life achievements.
  • When patients “feel great” after surgery.
  • Plus I REALLY love delivering babies!

Can you tell us a little about your family?

I married my high school sweetheart, Ken. We’ve spent the last 20 years growing up, deciding on careers and enjoying life. We currently don’t have children, but who knows what the next several years will bring.

Do you own any pets?

Do you play any instruments? If so, what kind and how long have you played?
I will take my flute out about once a year and think about trying to polish up my skills, but put it back in the box and another year goes by.

What languages do you speak?
I can understand Spanish, but I probably sound like a toddler when I’m trying to speak it.

Do you have any hobbies?

  • Reading, people watching
  • Random crafts that strike my fancy (especially things with essential oils)
  • Dark chocolate with red wine and good company.
